For growing peaches, dug a pit having dimensions 0.75 m x 0.75 m x 0.75 at about 5 m apart from each other. Then, add about 25 kg of farmyard manure along with 150 gm of Urea, 150 gm of MOP, 300 gm of SSP, and 50 gm of chlorpyriphos to each of the prepared pits, for healthy growth of peach plants.

How to Plant Peach Seeds

For planting peach through seeds, plant the seeds in a pit at a depth of 4 inches deep and then cover it with a mulch, about 1/2 inches deep. Provide water just after planting seeds in the pit. Then after, give water on the basis of plant need. After some time, a seedling will appear in the pot.

However, commercial peach farming, this crop is mainly propagated by grafting and rootstock method.

Rootstock Method

Keep the selected seeds in moist sand for about 100 days for delamination. Then after, treat the seeds with GA3 @ 250 mg per liter of water and thiourea @ 10 grams per liter of water to increase the germination % and vigor.

Then sow these seeds in prepared beds at depth, 5 to 6 cm at 15 cm apart from each other. The row to row spacing should be 15 to 20 cm. With this method, the best time for planting season is from Oct. to Nov. Give a light irrigation just after the planting on the beds.

In this method of the plantation, cuts a 5 cm graft from 12 months older rootstock from about 25 cm above from the field. Cut the graft in tongue form from the rootstock. Then it should be planted in the prepared pit followed by a light irrigation for good setting of grafted rootstock.

The best season for planting peach is from June to August means before the monsoon season starts. And, a light irrigation should be given after the plantation.
