Table olives, for instance, require careful picking.

This study will thus look at the rate of technological adaptation and how this is affecting the cost and quantity of production as well as the region of production.

There tomato production is irrigated and involves the use of agro-chemicals. This has led to the overuse of scarce water, as well as erosion and pollution of soil.” Greenhouse production raises issues of high energy use, waste disposal and landscape degradation.158
